Video content is crucial for engaging audiences and driving business growth. That’s why 91% of businesses post videos. This number is set to grow, as 68% of businesses that have not posted said they plan to start in 2024. 💪
As the video content market is about to become even more competitive, you need to know you have the right ai-video editor. It has to give you all the tools you need to make super-engaging videos while streamlining your workflows for maximum efficiency. ⚡
To help you make the best, most informed decision about video editing software, we did a Zubtitle review. Here are our thoughts. 🤔
What is Zubtitle?
Zubtitle is an online video editing platform that uses AI to help marketers quickly add subtitles to their social media videos. In addition to adding subtitles, it has a range of simple editing tools, making it easy to create videos without technical skills. You can quickly resize and clip videos, allowing you to repurpose content to reach a wider audience across all platforms. 😎
What are the core features of Zubtitle?
As its name suggests, Zubtitle is known for adding subtitles. Let’s examine how to add captions and use its other video editing features.
Video captions
Competition for audience attention is fierce, with 183 hours of new video content uploaded every minute to YouTube alone. This means it has never been more important to understand what your audience wants and how they consume your content. 😎
As video viewing moves increasingly towards short-form content on mobile devices, we have to adapt to keep thriving. Eighty percent of content is consumed without sound, making captions absolutely critical for communicating with your audience. 🧡
Zubtitle uses AI-powered technology to add captions to your short videos automatically. This streamlined process saves both time and money compared to manually uploading captions line-by-line.⚡
Of course, this process is only efficient if the translation is accurate. Zubtitle hasn’t released its accuracy rate, so we don’t know how it compares to Submagic’s industry-leading rate of 98.9%. Although we don’t know the exact rate, customers report being happily surprised by the accuracy, needing only a few manual corrections.
Captions can be uploaded in over 60 languages, allowing you to easily reach a global audience. To keep this audience’s attention, you can use a range of basic fonts and colors to match your brand.
Style templates
If you want to get started as quickly as possible, select a prebuilt template from Zubtitle’s library. The templates are optimized for different social media platforms, so you just need to add your brand’s style and colors to it. Keeping a consistent brand style across platforms has been shown to increase revenue by up to 23%. ⚡
If you know exactly how you want to style your videos, you can create your own style templates from scratch. These give you full control over your fonts, colors, and aspect ratio. Having easily reusable templates supercharges your production process, saving time and money.
Templates are particularly important when creating short-form video content, as we tend to produce a much higher volume. 😉
You also have the option to trim and reformat your video content through templates. Restyling existing content for different platforms and mediums is a great way to reach more people without creating brand-new content.
Add a video headline
Including an eye-catching headline is a simple but effective way to grab and maintain your audience's attention. You can do this with just a few clicks through Zubtitle. You have full control over the visual style to keep your branding on point.
Caption animations
With consistent branding and attractive headlines, your videos are already looking great. Animating the captions just adds the cherry on top. The dynamic nature of animated captions means they naturally capture attention more easily than static text. This could help to increase audience engagement and watch time.
Resize & crop
Resizing and cropping your content allows you to repurpose it for different platforms and audiences easily. Having content fit different aspect ratios allows you to optimize for every screen size. This can be done with just a click through Zubtitle’s prebuilt aspect ratios for different platforms. This ensures your content is optimized wherever people see it while maintaining a consistent brand image.
Trim your videos
Having a quick and repeatable process for trimming videos is perhaps the most important tool when repurposing content. 83% of marketers say that short videos should be less than 60 seconds long. This is the rule on many social media platforms, so trimming content to under a minute allows you access to all platforms.
If you have a 15-minute interview video, you have the chance to make 15 one-minute shorts. Of course, you would just pick out the most interesting parts of the interview and really make them pop with eye-catching captions and smooth transitions.
Even if you get four short videos from your longer content, this still opens you up to a much larger audience. These short videos can be cropped into the 9:16 aspect ratio and posted on YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and Tiktok.
Upload your logo
With Zubtitle's drag-and-drop editor, you can easily place your logo anywhere on the screen. This is a great idea for brand recognition and also helps protect your content from theft.
Today, we’re showing you how easy it is to edit and repurpose your content. Unfortunately, that means it’s easy for other people to repurpose your content.
If someone steals your content, resolving the issue can be long and costly, and success is not guaranteed.
By adding a logo or watermark to your content, you discourage people from presenting your content as theirs. If they simply repost your content, then everyone will recognize your logo, and you will still get credit for the work.
Progress animations
Simply add a progress bar animation to your videos with Zubtitle. This will dynamically show viewers how much time is left, encouraging them to complete the video. As always, you have full control over the style and position of your progress bar, so the brand and feel will stay consistent.
Pros, Cons, and Pricing of Zubtitle
Here are some of the main pros and cons that users have found with Zubtitle.
✅ Pros of Zubtitle
Here are the top three things that people love about Zubtitle.
User-friendly Interface
The simple and intuitive drag-and-drop editor means you don’t need technical skills to edit videos. This allows marketers to create and edit videos quickly without a steep learning curve.
Convenient Features
Zubtitle has a great list of basic features. It makes simple video edits easy, particularly when you need to create short-form content quickly.

Users report being very happy with the automatic captioning. However, the accuracy rate is unknown and cannot be compared to Submagic’s 98.9%.
❌ Cons of Zubtitle
Here are the top three things that people didn’t like about Zubtitle.
Limited Video Length
Zubtitle limits the length of video you can edit. Even on its most expensive tier, the maximum video length is 30 minutes. Many people feel frustrated by this limitation.
Lack of Advanced Features
Zubtitle has a broad list of simple features but is somewhat lacking in advanced capabilities. Some users say they would like to see more customization options for caption styles and other video elements.
Subscription Model Concerns
Some users have expressed concerns about recurring payments and token expiration. Because of these factors, some feel its pricing model is unfair.
Pricing of Zubtitle
Zubtitle offers four levels of subscription. The paid options have a monthly and an annual price.
Bootstrapper is free
The free level of Zubtitle gives you access to all video editing features with two videos per month. Your video downloads will all come with the Zubtitle watermark and your resolution is capped at 720p.
Guru is $18 per month or $190 annually

Agency is $49 per month or $490 annually
This is built for teams collaborating on client content. You get everything in the Guru plan, but your video limit is increased to 30 per month.
Custom Pricing
You can create your own plan based on usage needs by using custom pricing.
I Tested It, and Here’s my Zubtitle Review
As an online marketer, my number one goal at the moment is repurposing videos into attractive short-form content to build and engage my audience. With that in mind, I tested out Zubtitle to see if it could streamline my content production and improve the quality of my short videos. Here’s what happened.
Signing Up For Free Account
When you’re testing out a new product to improve your workflows, you want to be able to get started as quickly as possible.
I easily signed up with my Gmail, and my free account was created. I didn’t need to enter any credit card information, so we’re off to a good start.
Edit Demo Video
Once I’d signed up, I saw a demo video waiting for me. This is always nice to see because I want to test the features without having to wait for a video to process. I chose the demo video and started editing it.
Clean interface
The first thing I noticed is how clean the interface is. Everything is very easy to find, and the screen doesn’t feel overcrowded at all.
Trim Video
As I’m focused on making short videos, the first thing I need to do is trim the video length to under 60 seconds. The time slider at the bottom of the screen made it easy for me to cut the video to the time I needed. The playback was a little jerky while I was checking for the correct places to cut the video. This was annoying but not the end of the world.
Can’t Cut Multiple Segments
There are other ways to shorten content to under 60 seconds rather than just picking out a one-minute block. Unfortunately, these can’t be done with Zubtitle.
I wanted to create shorter sections, cut out some of the dead time, speed up sections, and add transitions. However, changing the speed of the video applies to the whole video, which is quite limiting when it comes to editing. This is particularly true when creating highly focused short-form content.
Editing Captions
It is very easy to edit the captions. This includes making corrections to the auto-generated captions and editing the style. It is easy to change the size, weight, font, and color, as well as highlight certain words.
Unfortunately, while it’s easy to use, the customization options are extremely limited. You are given a basic set of fonts to choose from, but these simply aren’t enough to stand out in the competitive world of social media video shorts. Submagic has a list of highly viral fonts used by the world’s largest creators to really grab people’s attention. 🧡
Text Motion
The text motion is easy to apply but again, I was disappointed by how few choices there were. I could only choose between two options: appear and highlight. Both of these work well, but they are too basic to impress a modern audience. I expected to see a library with a lot more prebuilt caption animations to help me attract an audience.
Logo Upload
It was really easy to upload a PNG logo. To keep the brand theme going, I chose to upload another version of the Zubtitle logo. I used drag-and-drop to position and size the logo. If you want to be more accurate with your position and size, you can type in the exact numbers to ensure consistency across designs. 🤝
Resizing
These resizing options come with four temples. These are common templates you would use across different social media platforms. As I am creating short videos, I selected the 9:16 aspect ratio, which is used for vertical mobile videos.
As you can see, the video's aspect ratio didn’t change—rather, it was just placed in the middle of a black canvas with a 9:16 ratio. This may be what you are looking for, as it gives you space for clear subtitles and a catchy headline. Unfortunately, this is not what I was looking for, and I had no way to zoom into the image so it would fill the vertical view.
Templates
Then, I checked out the templates to see if they had one that fit my needs. The first one I saw was fully zoomed in to fit the vertical 9:16 ratio. It looked perfect for me, so I selected it to see how it worked.
This is a quick way to repurpose content for a vertical view, but it’s certainly not perfect. I later discovered how to adjust the zoom level, but you cannot change which part of the video to focus on.
Canvas Zoom
You can only adjust how far you are zoomed into the video and not which part of the video to focus on. This means that the focus of the video may fall out of frame, as we can see from the second image. I couldn’t find any way to correct this.
Progress Bar
The progress bar is quite a cool feature, although it was a little frustrating to set up. I expected to change the position and size with a simple drag-and-drop feature, like with the logo editor. Unfortunately, I needed to change the position and size by editing the numbers on the right, which felt a little clunky.
AI Text Generation
This is a really useful feature that works well. AI automatically generates content for your headline, summary, social media post, hashtags, and timeline. The content is generated really quickly and can be manually updated if you’re not completely happy with it.
Render Video
It took a little longer than I expected to render such a short video.
Download Video and Transcript
I found it really useful to be able to download the transcript through an SRT file, in addition to downloading the video itself.
The Best Alternative to Zubtitle: Submagic
Zubtitle is a great option for people with no experience editing videos or creating repurposed content. It is easy to use and offers a wide range of simple features for editing social media videos.
Unfortunately, these features are very limited in depth, which means you are left with few ways to customize your videos to match your brand and attract the widest audience possible.
Like Zubtitle, Submagic requires no technical skills but gives you many more customization options. It is focused on the latest trends, which makes it easy to add them to your videos. Here are the top ways that Submagic is better than Zubtitle. 😉
Automatic Captions
Both offer automatic captions, but Submagic has an industry-leading 98.9% accuracy rate. This ensures you have to make as few manual corrections as possible, dramatically improving your efficiency rate. 🥇
Caption Styling
While Zubtitle offers basic fonts, word highlighting, and limited caption motion options, Submagic offers everything you need to make truly engaging subtitles.
You can choose from a wide range of font styles used by the world’s most popular creators. Fine-tune them to fit your brand, and then add advanced animations, graphics, emojis, and sound effects for a truly immersive experience. 😎
